Two way switch vs 3 way switch

Home is the place where we all love to be. Irrespective of whether you are living in a rented home or your own, ensuring the safety of your family is the most important thing. Protecting your family from any kind of incident is the topmost priority and you do take all measures to ensure the same. Electric equipment and devices installed and placed in your home should meet all standard parameters to avoid any unfortunate incident.  One thing that is common to all homes is switches. While switches are omnipresent, not many pay attention to their type and quality. If you are thinking of buying either a two way or 3 way switch, here you will get a quick glance into these two types of switches.

Two way switches:

Two way switch means having two switches in different locations for controlling one light fitting. They are wired in such a way that the operation of either switch would control the light. This arrangement is commonly found in long hallways with a switch at either end or in stairways, with one switch upstairs and one switch downstairs
Usually, switches are connected using a three-core cable. In case there are more than two switches on the circuit, for instance, over three floors on stairways, sometimes intermediate switches are used in between the other 2-way switches.

3 way switch:
It is a common type of lighting switch that makes it possible for controlling electrical fixtures such as ceiling light from two different locations in a room. In a large room or a hallway, for instance, installation of 3 way switches at both ends allows you to turn the light fixture on and off from two different locations in a room. These types of switches are used in pairs and have special wiring.
3 way switch is a variation of the standard single-pole switch that controls a light only from one location.  Four-way switch is another type that is used along with two or three-way switches for controlling an electric device from more than two locations. The combination might be used in great rooms or open-plan homes or in large kitchens where a central point of lighting fixtures may be controlled from more than two locations.
Whether you want to buy a two-way switch or 3-way switch, you can easily find the one on Crabtree India, one of the country’s most preferred and reliable names for electrical appliances and equipment.
